For this reason, in addition to the works that will be carried out on the lines and their trains, repairs and improvements will also be carried out at 15 stations along the entire route. This Tuesday, the director of the Metro, Adrián Rubalcava, announced works on Line 2. For this reason, it will suffer changes in its service. In addition, maintenance work will be carried out on other lines, such as Line 3 and Line A, which suffered serious breakdowns during the last rainy season. In any case, Line 2 will receive the largest number of works, as it is considered a vital public transport route for the FIFA World Cup period, as it ends in Taxqueña, where there is a connection with the Light Rail to get to the Azteca Stadium. Meanwhile, on Sundays, the Viaducto, Chabacano, and San Antonio Abad stations will be completely closed all day, so the system will operate from Taxqueña to Xola and from Cuatro Caminos to Pino Suárez. In this way, the local government is betting on getting the different services ready that will receive greater demand during the FIFA World Cup. According to what was reported at a press conference, starting next Monday, a series of works will begin along the blue line to repair and remodel one of the arteries of public transport that will have a high influx during the sporting event. The director of the Metro, Adrián Rubalcava, detailed that the national capital has 1,500 million new pesos allocated by the federation through a fund to CDMX, Guadalajara, and Monterrey. In the case of the national capital, the head of Government opted to repair Line 2 of the Metro and other stations throughout the network. "We are going to fix all the wear and tear and we are going to launch a general maintenance program," declared the former mayor of Iztapalapa. The PAN denounces the possible arrival of Adán Augusto in the CDMX. For his part, Adrián Rubalcava detailed that of the 1,500 million pesos, 1,000 will be used for Line 2. Line 2 of the Metro will be fundamental due to its connections between the Historic Center, one of the most important tourist points, and the South of the city to get to the Azteca Stadium. The head of Government of the CDMX, Clara Brugada, announced, a few months before the FIFA World Cup, a remodeling plan for Line 2 of the Metro that will be carried out with federal funds. The director of the Metro, Adrián Rubalcava, reported that from Monday to Friday the service on Line 2 will operate normally until 10 p.m., while on Saturday it will do the same, but until 8 p.m. Said budget can be used by local authorities for works and tasks within the framework of the FIFA World Cup. The same happens, for example, with the lighting of the Zócalo, as well as the infrastructure improvements being carried out in the stadium area in coordination with the mayor of Coyoacán, Giovani Gutiérrez. Among the works to be carried out will be, for example, the improvement of the network's catchment basins, the fire circuits as well as the electronic ones and the installation of 800 cameras, among other things.
